Axeon Specialty Products Raises More Than $130,000 for Local MDA Families

GALLOWAY, NJ, JULY 20, 2015 —Axeon Specialty Products and the Greater Philadelphia Muscular Dystrophy Association announced today that the 25th Annual 2015 Golf Tournament and Dinner has raised over $130,000 to help save and improve lives of children and adults affected by muscle disease.

The Axeon Specialty Products Golf Tournament and Dinner celebrated its 25th anniversary this year on July 20 in Galloway, NJ at the Seaview Hotel & Golf Club. More than 55 companies sponsored the premier golf event to help those served by the Greater Philadelphia MDA. Axeon Specialty Products manufactures asphalt and other intermediates in a safe, environmentally-sound and reliable manner, and provide their customers with innovative, highly engineered and technically-supported products.

“I’m proud of Axeon Specialty Products employees, customers and business partners who have offered their unyielding support for such a worthy cause,” said Axeon Specialty Products Senior Vice President and General Manager, Darryl Harris. “Because of their generosity and enthusiasm to give back through this year’s golf tournament, MDA families throughout the Greater Philadelphia region will receive vital funds to help them fight back against muscle disease.”

Mr. Harris adds, “Because of the unwavering support and steadfast commitment of our business partners – contractors, consultants, customers, suppliers and vendors – as well as our employees and industrial neighbors, we’re pleased to have raised more than $130,000 in funds today – bringing the total raised for this great cause over these 25 years to more than $1.7 million!”
The annual golf tournament and dinner directly benefit local families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases by helping to support MDA’s programs of research and health care services, including sending local kids to a weeklong, barrier-free MDA summer camp at Variety Club in Warminster, PA.

The Greater Philadelphia Muscular Dystrophy Association serves over 2,500 individuals living with a neuromuscular disease including over 200 individuals diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.  In addition to maintaining a network of two pediatric and two adult clinics in the Delaware Valley, MDA facilitates local support groups for families affected by neuromuscular diseases; and provides local summer camp opportunities for over 50 children & young adults fighting progressive muscle diseases.  For more information on ways to get involved and to learn more about diseases in MDA’s program, visit and follow MDA on Facebook ( and Twitter (@PhiladelphiaMDA).
